Indonesia called off until first light a search for an AirAsia plane
with 162 people on board that went missing on Sunday after pilots asked
to change course to avoid bad weather during a flight from Indonesia's
Surabaya city to Singapore.

Indonesia AirAsia Flight QZ8501, an
Airbus 320-200 carrying 155 passengers and seven crew, lost contact with
Jakarta air traffic control at 6:17 a.m. (2317 GMT on Saturday). No
distress signal had been sent, said Joko Muryo Atmodjo, an Indonesian
transport ministry official.

On board were 155 Indonesians, three
South Koreans and one each from Singapore, Malaysia and Britain, plus a
French pilot, the airline said in a statement, correcting earlier
information.

Tatang Kurniadi, head of Indonesia's National
Committee of Safety Transportation, expressed hope of locating the
aircraft quickly and said it was too early to detect any of the
so-called electronic pings from its black box recorder.

"We are
using our capacity to search on sea and land. Hopefully we can find the
location of the plane as soon as possible," he told a news conference.

"What I need to emphasize is until now, we have not found out how the plane fell or what kind of emergency it was."

Indonesia
AirAsia is 49 percent owned by Malaysia-based budget carrier AirAsia
(AIRA.KL), which has had a clean safety record since it began operating
13 years ago. The AirAsia group also has affiliates in Thailand, the
Philippines and India. The aircraft had accumulated approximately 23,000
flight hours in some 13,600 flights, according to Airbus (AIR.PA).

The
pilots of QZ8501 "was requesting deviation due to en-route weather
before communication with the aircraft was lost," the airline said in a
statement. Singapore, Malaysia, Britain, South Korea and Australia
offered to help in the search and any investigation. Malaysia said it
was sending vessels and a C130 aircraft while Singapore had also sent a
C130. Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said a P3 Orion aircraft was
on standby if needed.

ANXIOUS RELATIVES

Flight QZ8501 was
between Tanjung Pandan on Indonesia's Belitung island and Pontianak, in
West Kalimantan province on Borneo - almost halfway between Surabaya
and Singapore - when it went missing. There was bad weather over
Belitung at the time and the aircraft had been flying at 32,000 feet
before asking to fly at 38,000 feet to avoid clouds.

In both Surabaya and Singapore, anxious relatives of people on the plane awaited news.

Louise Sidharta was at Singapore's Changi Airport waiting for her fiancée to return from a family holiday.

"It was supposed to be their last vacation before we got married," she said.

A man named Purnomo told TVOne in Surabaya of a lucky escape.

"I
should have been on the flight," he said. "We, seven people, had
planned to go to Singapore for vacation but this morning I had an
emergency. I had my passport in hand."

Tony Fernandes, chief of Malaysia's AirAsia, said he was heading to Surabaya.

"My
only thoughts are with the passengers and my crew. We put our hope in
the SAR (search and rescue) operation and thank the Indonesia, Singapore
and Malaysian governments," he said on Twitter.

AirAsia swapped its distinctive bright red logo for a grey background on its website and social media accounts.

The
incident comes during a troubled year for Malaysia-affiliated airlines.
Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 went missing on March 8 on a trip from
Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 passengers and crew on board and has
not been found.

On July 17, Flight MH17 was shot down over Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board.

Indonesia
AirAsia has a fleet of 30 Airbus A320s. The missing plane has been in
service for just over six years, according to airfleets.net.

All
AirAsia-branded airlines operate aircraft made by Airbus, which has
orders for several hundred planes from the group. AirAsia is considered
one of the European planemaker's most important customers.

1. It is a good idea to ‘Hit’ when you have a 16, even if the Dealer has a 7 through to Ace as a face up card. You will be surprised to see how many times you will get a 4 or 5 card versus a higher card or face up card. This is a very strategic defensive move.

2. It is a good idea to Double Down on a soft 18 when the Dealers face up card is a six. This will allow you to get more money on the table and drive the Dealer to hit and possibly get a bust card. This is a very strategic offensive move.

3. It is a good idea to Stand on two nines even when the Dealer has a seven as his face up card. This move is not either defensive or offensive. It’s simply common sense. The Dealer must stand on 17 in most cases even if it is a Soft 17 (depending on the casino rules). So, if the Dealer gets a 10 valued card, then you automatically win.

4. In multiple deck Blackjack, only use the Surrender option when you have a total of 16 and the Dealer’s face up card is a 9, 10, or an Ace.
5. In multiple deck Blackjack, only use the Surrender option when you have a total of 15 and the Dealer’s face up card is a 10.

6. You should never Surrender a pair of 8s.

7. Do not Surrender a soft 15 or 16.

8. You cannot Surrender your hand if the Dealer has an Ace as a face up card, as he may have a Blackjack. If he has a Blackjack, your bet will be lost.

The best way to win in a casino is by preparing your gambling session before you enter. If you follow a few simple rules and avoid a few bad choices you will reduce your losses and bump up your winnings. Let’s take a look at more winning strategies for the inspiring slot player.

Only play machines that will pay back 95 to 99 percent of the coins played. Usually these types of slot machines are of the higher denomination. Therefore you will want to look for the dollar slots, which are the most popular among those that payout at the high percentage.

Choose a loss number! Do not let your pride get in the way of knowing when to quit. For example, you can set a loss number at eight or ten spins. If your machine does not hit a winning combination after your set loss number you can simply move on to another machine. You may have to change casinos if that’s what it takes to win.

Play non-progressive machines. Progressive slot machines are normally set by the RNG(random number generator) which will result in a higher number of reels and symbols. Players are better off playing the flat top machines.

Ask your friendly casino employee if they can help you find a loose slot machine. Hey, there’s an old saying “the squeaky wheel gets the oil.” You never know, a casino employee could help you become a millionaire! Make sure you offer them a cut of the action if you win.

Casinos are very strategic as well when it comes to the actual physical placement of their slot machines. If you are looking for loose slots (who doesn’t?) then focus on the following four areas in the casino:
First, the change booths or cashiers area are a hot spot for loose slots because casinos want people to see winners and immediately see where they can get change to play.

Secondly, look for displayed or featured machines with huge prizes on top as these tend to be loose to attract players. If you notice, most of these slot areas are packed with people just waiting to get a seat. Casinos know that eventually players will get impatient and stray to other tighter slot machines.

The third area to find loose slots in a casino is near the coffee shops, cafés, and snack bars. The idea is to motivate people to eat quickly and get back to playing those winning slot machines!

Finally, keep an eye out for loose slots near the casino “crosswalks” which are the cross sections between different areas of slot machines. The casino management will purposely place a couple loose machines at the front or near the beginning of a slot section to lure players. Yeah, it works well as we tend to follow the sound of money!

Avoid playing the slot machines that are located in secluded areas as these are usually tight. If you don’t like crowds and find yourself playing in a quiet secluded corner you can bet on losing your money. My suggestion would be to get up early or stay up later to avoid the large crowds.

Casinos will also place tight machines around table games, as table players tend to not play the slots, so management does not want them distracted by busy machines.

Showrooms or club entrances will usually have tight slot machines placed near the entrances as casinos know that people waiting in line have pretty much taken off their gambling shoes for the day.
Finally, don’t plan on winning on a slot machine placed near the sportsbook in a casino. The casinos want their sports bettors to have as little distraction as possible.

Playing slot machines is a great time but winning while playing is even more exciting! By following a few simple rules you will increase your chances of winning. Luck to ya.

10 ) Know the Odds

This may seem like basic advice, but you’d be surprised how many people actually think they have an edge over the House. Regardless of how good you are, or how much experience you have, or what technique you use, the casinos have been at this for a lot longer than you have. The odds are stacked in their favor, and while you may win in the short term, you will eventually lose. Knowing this can keep help keep your head clear.

9 )Take What You can Lose

I used to be asked which machine paid out the most often in the casino, and my answer was always the same; “The one with the letters A-T-M on the front.” When you decide to go to the casino, you must assume that you are going to lose, and treat it as such. Decide beforehand how much money you can afford to spend on the evening’s entertainment, and take no more than that amount in cash. Leave your checkbook and credit cards in the room or at home. When you have played through the cash in your pocket, leave.

8) Watch your Cash

This seems, again, like an obvious point, but it is something that gamblers often forget. Always be aware of your win-loss ratio. At any time, you should know exactly how much you have spent and how much you have won since you began this session. It doesn’t seem like much when you’re playing quarter slots until you realize that you’ve been shoving five-dollar bills into the machine!

7) Know When to Quit

The casinos love to quote the old adage, “A winner never quits and a quitter never wins,” but the opposite is true when it comes to gambling. My wife and I have a standing rule: we play only what we intended to play before we arrived (see #2), and, if at any time, we reach double the amount we came in with (or greater), we cash out and leave. Just as small losses add up quickly, so do small wins. We go to the casino to eat about once every two months or so, and when we go, we usually bring a little extra cash (often $5 or $10) to play in the machines. In general, we lose or break even, but we have won (and walked out) often enough that, over the course of three years, we’re up by about $25.

6) Watch the Clock

There’s a reason that few casinos have clocks or windows. Compensate for this by wearing a watch or carrying a timepiece and referring to it often. At any point, you should know exactly how long you have been sitting at the table or the machine. If you’ve been at the same location for more than 15 minutes and you haven’t at least broken even, it’s time to cut your loses and go. Sometimes, in addition to limiting the amount of money I bring with me, I also set my watch alarm to 30 minutes or so. When the alarm goes off, regardless of whether I’m up or down, I leave.

5) Don’t Drink

Alcohol dulls the senses and impairs judgment; that’s why they keep offering you those free drinks. Fortunately, combating this tactic is as easy as saying, “No thanks.” Of course, the waitress will keep tempting you. After all, her job is to keep you there at the table or in front of the machine. If you need an excuse, you can always claim to be the designated driver and they will usually leave you alone. Just remember, they can’t force you to accept the alcohol.

4) Take Breaks

All too often while working the floor, I would see people sitting in the same location for hours on end. Sometimes (it happens much more often than you think), these people would not even leave to take a bathroom break, instead simply urinating (or worse) right there in the seat. Sometimes they would shift to another seat, but more often, they simply sat in their own filth and kept playing. Such is the drive of greed. Get up once in a while and walk around. Go to the restaurant (if there is one) or snack bar and get a soft drink. Use that time to check your win-loss ratio (see #3), and if you find that you’re ahead, it might be time to go.

3) No Systems

There’s no shortage of people trying to sell you on time-tested methods for beating the casino. Everyone seems to have a “system” that they claim works for them, but if you ask around, you’ll find that they made their money selling books, not playing casinos. If all of these systems worked as well as they say, how would casinos still be in business? And doesn’t it stand to reason that the casino operators have read these books too? There is no perfect system that can defeat the odds that are weighted in favor of the house, and it’s a waste of money to try. Gambling is largely luck, and you have no control over that factor. What’s more, most casinos write the rules such that the odds go to them.

2) Hidden Costs

Many slot machines today offer varying levels of payout with the number of coins played. Of particular importance to note are linked machines that are placed in different casinos across the country, and tied to a central mega-jackpot. Often, in order to win the big money, you must play the maximum number of coins playable. I have been witness to two occasions in which someone got the winning combination (and won a small jackpot), but was “cheated out of” the big money because they did not play the maximum number of coins. By law, this information must be made clear on the face of the machine, but casinos are good at hiding it amongst the colorful designs and other eye-candy.

1) Cash Outs

Cashiers in casinos have been trained (or machines, where they replace humans, have been programmed) to provide you with the largest possible denominations of bills when giving cash outs. This is because they know that you have to pass through the maze to get back out, and you might be tempted by the lure of a particular machine. You sit down to play just “one more dollar,” only to discover that the smallest bill you have is a five…

It would be wrong to say that no one ever wins. In fact, casinos are filled with winners, sometimes big winners. But stop and ask some of these people how much they have spent trying to get to that point and the numbers become a little more revealing. It is very rare to win huge amounts of cash without having paid excessive amounts to achieve that goal. Ever notice that casino winners (in large part) tend to be in the ages of 50 and upwards? Who else has all day to spend in front of a slot machine, shoving coins into it?
online pokies
Sometimes, you get lucky. I’ve had days when I’ve walked into a casino with two dollars and come out two hours later with $20. There have also been days when I’ve gone in with $20 and come out in 15 minutes with nothing. The best way to win? Don’t play. But if you must, then these tips will at least help balance the odds a little.

Pai Gow Poker is played with a 53 card deck, which includes one joker. The joker can only be used to complete a straight or a flush and is considered an Ace in any other circumstance. In a flush, it is considered the highest ranking card that has not been used.

Before your hand is dealt, you will need to make a wager. The people who are playing with you will also bet. If you are playing Pai Gow online, you probably won't be playing with other people. Everyone is dealt seven straight cards from the deck. When there is multiple people playing, rolling the dice will determine who will be dealt the first set of cards.

After everyone receives their cards, you have to arrange your cards and try to make your best 5 and 2 card poker hands. The strength of hand rankings of the same as normal five card poker. The one exception with Pai Gow poker is that in most casinos the "Wheel" (A,2,3,4,5) will be considered the second highest straight to the royal straight (10,J,Q,K,A).

The rankings are (in order): one pair, two pair, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush, royal flush. You can also get a five of a kind if you get all four aces and the joker, though you might want to split them up between the two hands to try to win both hands.

Important rule:

your low hand is never allowed to be able to beat your high hand. Example: Look at the screen above. You are not allowed to play the pair of 6's in your low hand because it would win against the pair of 4's and AQ3 high cards in you high hand. Your best move is to play Ace/Queen in your low hand, although you could also play both 4's.

If the player and dealer both have the same hand rank in a 5 card hand (called the high hand), such as both having a pair of Aces, then the person with the highest ranked card (in this case a King) will be the winner. In the unlikely event that the dealer and player have the exact same 5 card hand, it is called a copy hand the tie will go to the dealer.

For your 2 card hand (called the low hand), any pair that you can create will beat two singletons (non-pairing two cards). A higher pair beats a lower pair and the highest ranked card wins when it comes to singletons. An Ace-2 will beat a King-Queen. If you and the dealer have the same two cards, the dealer wins on the copy hand.

Playing against the dealer's hands

The dealer will arrange his hands by a set of fixed rules called the "house way". This means that the dealer is not deciding how to try to beat people.
The main objective in Pai Gow poker is to win both your high and low hand against the dealer. If you win both hands against the dealer, you win even money on your bet minus a 5% commission to the casino. If you and the dealer split one hand a piece, the bet is pushed and no money is won or lose. If you lose both hands to the dealer, you will lose your entire bet.
Because of the 5% commission on your winnings, the house advantage is 5% because the dealer does not have much of a natural advantage on you. The normal house advantage for the banker is 2.5%, because of the cases where a copy hand goes to the banker.

Dragon Hand

You might be wondering why there is a dragon that is associated with Pai Gow Poker. Well one fact is that the game originated in China. The other reason that the dragon is prominent with the game is called the "dragon" hand. This is usually only seen in live casinos when multiple people are playing.
If there is an empty seat that is available, the dealer will deal a hand for the empty seat. This is called the dragon hand.
Any player may place a bet and assume the dragon hand if they would like. This would essentially mean that you are now playing two separate hands against the banker.

Be the Banker

Any player at the table is allowed the be the Banker. The banker is who everybody else is playing their hands against. The dealer will still play and will bet an amount equal to the last bet that player made when the dealer was banking. The banker will be decided by taking turns. Everyone has the option to be the banker or decline. If a player decline, the next player in line has the option.

In order to be the banker, you must have enough money to pay off all winning bets from the other hands. You must also have played a hand against the banker.

What are the advantages to being the banker?

The main advantages are that there is a 2.5% advantage for the banker because they win on a copy hand.
The 5% commission that is charged isn't taken until all of your winnings and losings on all hands played are combined.

It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting to learn about the ins and outs of blackjack or if you are looking to brush up your skills – here are some of the best tips and advice from players who have enough years of experience to know better.
While some of these might seem obvious to those with some blackjack background, you would be amazed at how normally intelligent players often let go of common sense in all the excitement of the game.
Commit these to memory and you’ll be sure to leap over less sophisticated players.

Tips and Tactical Advice for Winning at Blackjack

Remember that even after you have mastered basic blackjack strategy and black jack card counting techniques, it is impossible to win all the time. Blackjack is a statistical game and professionals know that to win big means playing lots of hands, riding out fluctuations and perfecting their skills to achieve an overall advantage.

Card counting is an effective way to gain an advantage over the house, but it is extremely difficult to do properly. More importantly, counting cards in blackjack while playing online is useless, since most games shuffle the deck after every hand.

Playing multiple hands against the dealer does not provide a statistical edge – it’s really no different than playing for a longer period of time. It certainly speeds things up, but it doesn’t increase your chances of winning.

Know the blackjack lingo. If there is a term used in blackjack that you don’t understand, you need to find out what it is. Blackjack is an easy game to learn, but it takes some time to master. Find out all about insurance, surrendering, and all the rest before you put money down on the table.

Never stop learning, never stop practicing. Even if you think you have perfected your game, you can always improve. Check out new strategies, new games, and new ways to play.

Roulette Tip 1#

Always play a Roulette that is free and always bet on the outside tables' one.

Roulette Tip 2#

Always bet on outside chances whether Red/Black, Odd/Even, High/Low, Columns or Dozens. The returns are marginal here but they will help you in winning the game.

Roulette Tip 3#

Always keep checking the previous rounds or sessions of the Roulette as they will help any player in making predictions for their rounds. For instance, if a series of 10 red figures were to be spun in, the player will prefer betting on the red ones. This Roulette Tip is the most important factor or tip of many Roulette Systems and is usually used by many players who win consistently.

Roulette Tip 4#

This is important. Practice makes a man perfect. Start with a free table to get hold of the game, clear your doubts and then when you are confident enough, start placing your bets on a table where you play to win.

Roulette Tip 5#

Reserve whatever you win. Example: You start with the amount of $50. After a couple of hours of playing you have a total sum of $100 which is equal to the profit of $50. Withdraw the amount or sum you won into your bank account. You cannot lose the game, you can only draw even. This is the most important Roulette strategy for any casino player. Always keep the money you win and play with your original amount put at stake. If you lose your stake within a short span of time, control your temptation to make more deposits in the future. Here comes the most important Roulette Tip for any player…always bet an amount you think you ca afford to lose.

Roulette Tip 6#

Always start with checking your table before playing. You need to concentrate. To consistently win huge sums of money, you must keep in mind that you are not competing with the casino. Focus only on earning profits.

Roulette Tip 7#

Always look for this rule before playing. Play only the European Roulette Table and never the American Roulette Table. The double 00 on the American Table increases the casino's profit margins and your chances of losing too at a faster pace.

Roulette Tip 8#

If you are playing online, you have to be doubly careful .always play with reputed casinos which publish their payout percentages. Always play with a casino with a Random Number Generator.

Roulette Tip 9#

This is only for the traditional casinos. Before starting your turn spin the wheel several times to check for biases if any. It is quite possible that a particular wheel generates more of odd numbers than even or vice versa.

Roulette Tip 10#

Always keep a printed version of these Roulette tips. Keep them while playing the game as they can be of great help to you while playing and winning a huge sum of money.

1) Place the five or nine to lose

In this bet, you put down $8.00 and bet that the numbers above will lose. Why? The house edge on this type of bet is low – only 2.5% so when the 7 shows (again, that happens often), you’ll win $5.00.

2) Lay against the 4 or 10

This tip is similar to the place the 6 or 8 to lose but the payouts are much higher. In this case you take the more “optimistic” approach and place $41 on the table and say “Lay against the 4 (or 10).” If you win, you get paid out $20!

3) Place the six or eight to lose

This tip is extremely easy and virtually foolproof! Place a $5.00 bet on the table and announce “6 (or 8) to lose.” Why? If the seven shows (which is a very high frequency number) then you win $4.00 as the house edge is only 1.82%.

4) Place the Six or Eight

When you’re playing in multiples of $6.00 (or the currency of your choice), place the six or 8 place-to-win bet. Why? The casino has only a 1.52% edge which means that you’ll be paid out seven dollars when the number hits (and easy profit every time)!

5) The Odds Rules: When to pass and come and when not to

The rule of thumb is as follows: Put the smallest amount on the “don’t pass” or the “don’t come” and the largest amount behind it. Why? Simple. The house edge is on the don’t pass/don’t come bets but the player has the advantage on the odds bets. Next, the second rule of thumb also applied to this type of common craps bet. The house edge is on the pass line and the come line but the player again, has the advantage on the odds portion of the bets.
“Roulette Machine Tips Should be Practiced Online”

Put £20 in your favourite bookies roulette game and you’ll get £20 worth of spins, probably at a minimum of 50 pence per bet. Do the same thing online and you get much more for your money, on average you’ll make around 100% on what you deposit and we have’nt even mentioned the no deposit bonuses yet either.

10 Quick Tips For Roulette Machine Champions

“Read and read again my friend”

1. Go for the free cash first

Joining an online casino as a uk player is simple, but finding the right website and roulette simulators can be more tricky. We suggest using a bookies casino like betfred.com where the machines are very similar to the betting shop standard. Don’t forget the free cash too, you can make serious coins with no need to deposit anything. See our free roulette site bonuses ..

2. Bankroll management is everything

If you’ve never thought about the money you’re playing with, think again. Bankroll management is one of the most powerful roulette tips known to any budding professional. Ten percent is normally a good figure in terms of playing the wheel with control, if you have £20, then you bet no more than £2 at anyone time.

3. Practice your roulette game online

Join a casino and practice like there is no tomorrow, the cool thing about online roulette simulators is freedom. By this we mean free of course, you can write down your best betting patterns and most successful runs at anyone time, you also stand to lose nothing if you go on tilt and lose.

4. Walk away with 20 percent profits

If you make twenty percent profit then you leave the fobt machine immediately. This rule is golden amongst some of the most smartest players on the planet. For instance: If you start playing with £40, and at anyone time you have £48 or over, then it’s time to walk away. Sustainability is discipline, it’s also one of the best betting shop roulette tips you’ll ever learn.

5. Knowing how a roulette machine works

Roulette games are not rocket science, but they are gambling chemistry. Learning how machines in the bookies function is something you want to have in your back pocket, next to your winnings that is. Read our guide on how those roulette machines work ..

6. Know your enemies

Your enemy is not the fixed odds betting terminal, it’s the person either taking money out or putting it in who is. Players like to marvel about systems and strategies, you should be thing about them and them only. It’s not how they’re betting that matters, it’s how much they’re losing or winning. Machines are solid based systems that have capacity, if they fill up they will automatically empty after profits. You need players to fill them up, so tread carefully and watch mindfully.

7. Know when to play a machine

You are best to play at certain times and there are great reasons for this. The majority of bookies shops fill up between the hours of 4 – 630 pm, normally the end of work shifts that have gamblers edging to blow off steam. For this reason the best time to play a roulete machine is around 7 o clock at night. Avoid early mornings and late nights, as low human traffic will indicate a possible poor payment flow.

8. Gathering covert intelligence

The way in which the atmostphere of that betfred shop portrays itself may lend a few clues. One of our favourites is the dead terminal, if you walk into ladbrokes and the place is full of betting humans but no one on the roulette machine, then it’s a giveaway for a machine that’s been hacked to death. Study other players and observe for possible signs that you’re onto a winner, if you see a player who is suddenly flustered and upset that they have no change left on them, be sure to spin next when they’ve gone.

9. Take your online experience back to the betting shop with you

I can guarantee that your 52 year old drunken roulette players is not hitting those spinners on the internet. This where you can get ahead, use online roulette as a baseline for self development. Practice with either a real or play money £20 stake and aim to go for a 20 percent profit, write down your methods and any failures along the way. Once you’ve found confidence in turning £20 into £24 on a regular basis, head back to the real world and do some damage.

10. Bankroll building

One of the best roulette tips found anywhere is bankroll management, the second part to this equation is bankroll building. If you manage your bankroll to within 10 percent of winning, then you should build at double the value. Therefore if you start playing with £20 and you spin bets at £2, you should leave the game with 20 percent profit at £24. It’s a bit more difficult than it sounds, but very impressive when a player can start building a bankroll with simplicity. Only practice makes perfect, and the internet is the perfect place to do it.

Many love them, many have played them but few know how Scratch Cards were initiated. Scratch cards became popular when numerous states in the USA began using them in their state lotteries in the 1980s. However, online scratch cards are comparatively new to the online gambling industry. Since gambling online is about expediency and ease, it’s understandable that scratch cards are now offered on online casinos. Online scratch cards are virtual versions of the cards someone purchases at their local grocery store or news stand. But there’s nothing virtual about the cash a person can win playing scratch cards online.

All the bells and whistles associated with online casino graphics are there for the players entertainment too. Online scratch card rules are pretty much equal to paper scratch cards; except just think of cyberspace. You buy a card and scratch away the surface to expose the hidden symbols underneath. The right combination of symbols makes the buyer a scratch card winner.

Online Scratch Card rules:

The player must first place their wager. Once they have placed a Scratch Card wager there are two steps to take.

1. Click the new card symbol.
2. Scratch away the surface to show the hidden symbols. A player can accomplish this by using the mouse pointer and virtually scratching the card or click the show card button. This will scratch the entire card at one time.

In order for the player to win an online Scratch Card game, they must have three of the same symbol on the card. The Scratch Card game rules for winning consist of 3 symbols that are alike the player then wins their full bet. If they have three 2X symbols they win twice their bet. If there are three 5X symbols on the card the player wins five times their bet. If there are three 10X or 20X symbols revealed on the scratch card the player winds 20 times their wager. Normally the times (X) factor goes up to 50X. If a player wins at playing Scratch Card, they instantaneously win a prize comparable to the amount of their bet multiplied by the value of the winning symbol. Online Scratch Cards have high prizes and today thousands of individuals prefer online Scratch Cards as the best way to play them.
Proficient Video Poker play involves not only strategy but also basic common sense. Here are some fundamentally important tips to keep in mind.
1. Remember to ‘Hold’ cards that constitute a prime winning hand. Because it is so easy to get caught up in the moment, you may forget to ‘Hold’ your winning cards. As silly as it may seem, you would be surprised to know how often Players lose winning hands in this fashion, and the next press of the Deal button results in a losing hand.

2. On Jacks or Better Video Poker games:

It is best to play on those machines where the payout is 99.5%

The best payout machines are those that offer 9 coins for a Full House and 6 coins for a Flush under the 1 credit line.

Machines that pay out 8 coins for a Full House and 6 coins for a Flush are 5% less profitable that 9/6 machines (see bullet point immediately above for 9/6 definition).

Kings, Queens, and Jacks are better cards than Aces because you are more likely to get these card combinations to make up a Straight than you would an Ace.

3. On Bonus and Progressive Video Poker games:

Do not play the progressive machines unless the Jackpot is high. It is more likely that you will hit a high jackpot.

Do not play the progressives unless you have a high bankroll. Be sure to create a budget before playing.

Play the machines that pay 10 coins for a Full House and 7 coins for a Flush under the 1 credit line for Bonus Video Poker games.

4. On Deuces Wild Video Poker games:

You will discard all 5 dealt cards at least 20% of the time.

Play on those machines that pay 9 coins for a Straight Flush and 5 for Four of a Kind

5. On Jokers Wild Video Poker games:

Attempt a Straight Flush with a Wild Card when possible as this has a higher return rate

Play on those machines that pay 7 coins for a Full House and 5 coins for a Flush under the 1 credit line.

6. Play 10d 8h Jc 10s 9h as a low pair instead of a possible Straight, as it is more likely for you to get Three of a Kind on the next draw than a Straight. Refer to the Pay Table for probabilities and percentages.

7. Go for the Royal Flush even if you have a Straight such as Ad Kc Qd Jd 10d. A payout on the maximum credit line for a Straight is only 20 coins but a maximum payout on a Royal Flush is 4,000 coins. Which would you rather?

8. With a hand that contains 4h 4d Qc Ad 6s, you should only hold the low pair. Do not hold a kicker, as you will reduce your chances of getting better paying hands such as Three of a Kind, Four of a Kind, or even Two Pair.

9. With a hand that contains 2d Qd As 8c Jc, you should only hold the Queen and the Jack but not the unsuited Ace. It makes more sense not to hold 3 unsuited cards especially if there is a gap.

Keno is an ancient lottery-type game based on picking numbers that match the winning keno numbers. It is a game of luck, but there are some good sensible keno tips that can help you enjoy your keno game and to win more.

Set Yourself a Bankroll

Set yourself a limited mount of money to play with and, possibly, to lose. This is your bankroll. Make sure your bankroll is large enough to see you through a few rounds of keno. Remember that losses are often involved before you start to win anything at keno.
Online casinos often offer sign-up offers and other promotions. By all means, take advantage of what they offer. There is nothing better than gambling with the house's money. But do read the fine print, and make sure you comply with all the terms and conditions of the bonus.

Practice Keno Online

If you intend to play keno online, play a few practice games first. Online keno might seem like a simple game, but a little practice never hurt anybody, and it just might help. After a few practice keno games, you will feel confident and ready to play keno for real money.
If your goal is to stay longer in the game and to make your bankroll last, you should wager small amounts of money on a smaller number of spots. Conversely, if you want to gamble on winning a bigger keno payout, you need to place larger bets on a larger number of spots. The biggest keno jackpot is available only if you bet the maximum fifteen spots. A $10 wager could win you $100,000.
Learn all you can about keno strategies. Because of the fluctuation in the keno odds and payouts, some keno bets are better than others. It is better to wager on three keno numbers than on four. It is also better keno strategy to bet on eleven spots than on seven, eight, nine, or ten spots.

Pick Your Lucky Keno Numbers

There is no such thing as the best keno numbers or the worst keno numbers. Pick keno numbers that seem lucky to you. Your lucky keno numbers could be based on birthdays, telephone numbers, bible verses, or numbers that come to you in a dream. When it comes to picking keno numbers, any system that gives you pleasure is the right keno system for you.
Do not forget to keep your Yin and Yang in proper balance. Keno is an ancient Chinese game, and it incorporates elements of Chinese philosophy. The top half of the keno ticket symbolizes the Yin, and the bottom half symbolizes the Yang.
If you pick an equal number of spots from the top half and the bottom half of your keno card, your Yin and Yang will be balanced and the cosmic forces of the universe will be more likely to exert themselves on your behalf.

Claim Your Keno Winnings

If you are playing keno in a land-based keno casino, make sure you claim your keno winnings promptly. If you are holding onto a winning keno card and the drawing for the next keno game starts, it is too late and your winnings will be considered void. That would be a shame, and it is easily avoided if you stay alert. (In an online keno casino, this is not at issue; your keno winnings are immediately added to your online casino account automatically.)

Learn Some Keno History

Learn all you can about the history of keno. This will not necessarily help you win at keno, but it will help you to more deeply enjoy and appreciate this fine and honorable old casino game.

Enjoy Your Game of Keno

Finally, remember that keno is, after all, just a game. There will be days that you win at keno and days that you lose. Don't play keno when you feel pressured to win money, and don't gamble more than you can afford to lose. If you gamble sensibly and keep a cool head, you will find that the game of keno is a lot of fun and quite exciting.

A popular spin-off of poker developed for traditional casinos more than a decade ago, Caribbean Stud has taken a front-row-seat in casinos, owing its success both to the drastic rise in poker popularity and to its overwhelming simplicity. The basic rules for the game are as follows:
• All players must make an ante wager according to the limits of the table. An optional $1 progressive wager is also made at this time.
• The dealer and all players are dealt five cards. All player cards are dealt face down. The dealer receives four cards face down. The fifth card is exposed.
• After looking at the hand, players must decide whether to fold or bet. Hands values are based according to traditional poker rules. Players may not share information about their hands.
• Any player that folds forfeits the current wager.
• Any player that bets must wager an additional amount equal to twice (2x) the value of the ante.
• After all players have made and acted on their decisions, the dealer will expose his remaining cards.
• The dealer must have a minimum hand of Ace/King to qualify. If the dealer does not qualify, players will win even money on their ante and push with their bet.
• If the dealer’s hand does qualify and loses to the player, then the ante will pay even money and the bet will pay according to the table’s payout schedule.

Common Caribbean Stud Pay Table (US)
Hand / Pays

Royal flush / 100 to 1
Straight flush / 50 to 1
Four of a kind / 20 to 1
Full house / 7 to 1
Flush / 5 to 1
Straight / 4 to 1
Three of a kind / 3 to 1
Two pair / 2 to 1
All other / 1 to 1
• If the dealer qualifies and wins, the player losses all monies wagered.
• The optional progressive side bet will be based entirely on the standard poker value of the player’s hand.
While the mechanics of the game are clearly easy to follow, optimal strategy for this game can get a little complicated. Unfortunately, providing a detailed strategy for each falls a little outside the scope of this book. However, at its most basic, the call strategy for this game involves two actions: always bet when dealt a pair, and Always fold with any hand below an Ace/King.
Finally, following optimal strategy, the best you can do with this game in terms of reducing the vigorish is about 5.2%.

Variations on a theme

Caribbean Stud is another game that has suffered few changes in overall structure after entering the online environment. In fact, the two biggest changes involve its name—which varies according to software provider–and the payout structure for both the bet and progressive jackpot. Alternative names include: Caribbean Poker, Island Progressive Stud Poker, and Cyberstud Poker.
If given the opportunity when narrowing down your search, opt for the site that offers the best possible schedule.

Winning at Caribbean Stud

Even though Caribbean Stud is a simple game to learn, the strategy can actually get quite involved. In fact, whole books have been written about the topic, including one by this author.
At its most advanced level, the best you’ll be able to lower the house edge on this game is 5.22%, making it far from one of the best games in the house. A simplified, yet not overly costly strategy—hovering with a vigorish of about 5.5%–involves two actions. First, always bet/raise when your hand contains a pair (no matter how small) or better. Second, fold any hands that do not contain at least the minimum qualifying hand for the dealer: Ace-King.
Slightly more advanced strategy involves paying close attention to the dealer’s upcard. For example, if you hold an Ace-King in your hand and the dealer’s exposed card is below a king and matches one of your other cards, you should bet. Other factors that you should keep an eye out for include the remaining cards in your Ace-King hand (do you have a queen as well, while the dealer shows garbage?) and the comparative rank of the dealer’s card to your remaining cards.
While it’s usually suggested that player’s learn and master the optimal strategy for any game they play, in this particular instance beginners may want to avoid the hours of tedious study needed to drop the edge such a small amount in an otherwise expensive game, and concentrate solely on these basics. If you find that you have a real taste for the game, then invest the time to drop that edge down to its optimal level.

Casino roulette uses the same basic rules and procedures in all casinos throughout the United States and Canada, as well as in the Caribbean and other island gaming resorts on the North American continent.

A roulette table can seat up to 6 players. Each player is given their own colour roulette chips, this enables the dealer to identify who made a winning bet and pay off the correct player. The chips generally have a set value of 25 or 50 denominations, dependent on the currency you are playing in. A stack of twenty 25-cent chips is valued at $5.00, and a stack of twenty 50-cent chips is worth $10. Usually it takes a minimum of $20 to buy-in at the roulette betting table.

In roulette betting, a player may request whatever value he wishes for his chips, above the 25 cent or 50 cent standard amount. The dealer will specify the worth of that particular coloured chip by mating a sample chip which is placed upon the rim of the wheel. Players may also bet larger amounts by using $1, $5 and $25 regular.

It is important to note that these roulette chips must be cashed in at the table. They may not be removed from the table when the player leaves.
The betting layout starts with numbers 0 and 00 at the top, then extends from numbers 1 through 36 at the far end of the table. This area is referred to as the "inside" betting area. Inside bets consist of the following: single-number bets, including the 0, 00 and 1 through 36, are made by placing your chip in the centre of the number you select. If that number wins you'll receive 35 to 1 for every chip you have bet. Actually, you can pick up a total of 36 chips which includes your original bet. Additional combinations in this "inside" betting area are: one chip on a six number bet (pays 5 to 1); one chip on any four connecting numbers (pays 8 to 1); one chip on any connecting group of three numbers (11-1); one chip place between two connecting numbers (17-to-1).

The "outside" betting area consists of odd or even bets which pay even money. Red or black also pays even odds. A bet on 1 to 18, or 19 to 36, pays even money. You will get 2-to-1 odds if you select the winning number within the first, second or third dozen numbers. The same 2 to 1 odds are given for selecting any of the numbers in the three vertical columns of 12 numbers, located on one end of the betting surface

For outside bets, the dealer will lay your winning chips alongside your original bet. It is up to you to pick up both your winnings and your original bet after the payoff. All inside bets are paid by the dealer, directly to you. As mentioned. The dealer knows you are the winner by the colour of your chips. In many instances, more than one coloured chip is on a winning number. Again, your original bet is left on the number or combination of numbers and it is up to you to reclaim that bet. Naturally, you can let it ride again on the next roll or even add other chips from your winnings.

Understanding the Wheel

The perfectly balanced roulette wheel consists of 38 identical slots, individually numbered from 0, 00, 1 through 36. In total, 38 numbers are represented on the betting layout. Each game begins when the dealer (sometimes called croupier) spins the wheel in one direction, and then rolls a little ivory ball along the inner edge of the wheel in the opposite direction. As the wheel turns, the ball loses momentum. It bounces among the slots and finally falls into one of the numbered slots. That number is the declared winner for that game. Incidentally, there are about 90 spins or games played per hour, on average.

You will notice on our illustration of the standard roulette wheel that the numbers are not consecutively arranged around the wheel. By design, they alternate between red and black and exactly opposite each other number is the corresponding higher and lower number. Run a ruler or any straight edge across the diagram and you will see that the O is opposite the 00, 1 is opposite the 2, and so on up to the 35 being directly opposite the 36. All red numbers are opposite the black numbers.

The house edge is set at 5.26%, resulting from the player receiving odds of 35 to 1 rather than the true odds of 1 in 36 or 37 to 1. All in all, that edge is comparable to the "rake" in poker, and in some bets on the craps table, in baccarat and other games including sports betting. The single-0 European roulette wheel has a house edge of only 2.70%. The player has a 1 in 37 chance of winning and still gets 35 to 1.
Some casinos use the en prison rule where, when a zero or double zero occurs, all even- money bets are help (or only one-half taken) depending upon the outcome of the next spin.

Blackjack is not only a fun game, but has had a long history. Because of that, there are now many variations of the basic game. The basic game of course is to get as close to 21 points as possible without going over and going "bust." And of course a second important goal is to beat the dealer - that is, to do better than the dealer does at getting close to 21.

The single most common variation is that blackjack can be played with any number of decks - from 1 to perhaps 8 decks, and then of course there are also continuous card shufflers nowadays that can act like even more than 8 decks.

More Blackjack Variations of Game Rules

Because the odds in blackjack are not bad for the player, Casinos have invented some new blackjack variations that have decent odds but of course not as good as the original blackjack game. Some of these games are: Spanish 21, Super Fun 21, Double Diamond, and 6:5 Blackjack. What each of these games have in common is that they give you a feature, but then also take away a feature of normal blackjack. Spanish 21 allows you to double down or surrender most any time. However, the ten cards (but not face cards) are eliminated from the deck, lowering the players odds. So, some gains, some losses. The end result a little less good than the normal game of blackjack. 6:5 blackjack allows people to play with a single deck- generally more favorable to the players. However, blackjacks there only pay 6:5 (1.2 to 1) and not 1.5 to 1 - so not as good. Likewise, Super Fun 21 uses "Double Diamond" blackjack. Again, it allows more rules such as double downs and surrenders later in the game. However, blackjack pay is again lower. In the case of double diamond blackjacks only pay 1:1 - unless both cards of the blackjack are diamonds - then it would pay 2:1. All of these variations are slightly lower in odds than the normal game of blackjack. However, since some of them offer some more play possibilities, some people do like playing them.

There are even more game variations. There is something called "5-card charlie", where players can win if they are less than 21 points and hold 5 cards in a single hand. There are other variations of that called "6-card charlie" and "7-card charlie". You can guess how those work. Most casinos do not offer those options anymore, but some might. There are also variations of what is allowed - such as additional double down plays, or surrender plays or more. The rpsoft 2000 blackjack game addresses many of the common blackjack rule variations - including of course the simple option for number of decks.

rpsoft 2000- blackjack game

One easy way to practice the game in a simple atmosphere and to also modify the games options as you wish is with the blackjack game available here from rpsoft 2000 software. The game has many features that can help one learn to at least defend themselves a little in a regular blackjack game or one of the variations. The game includes many options - including how many decks in play, dealer hitting on soft 17 or not, number of cards in a deck to be dealt, basic options of basic blackjack, Spanish 21, 6:5 single deck blackjack, Super Fun 21 and many more options. The deal mechanism of the game has been gone over carefully to reflect the real odds of a deck of cards being dealt.

Basic Strategy Hint Charts

And as one plays the game, simple hint charts are provided by pressing the "f2" key during a game, or the more complete hint chart for that game by pressing "f3". Several hint charts are provided - showing the differences in play between single deck blackjack, multiple deck blackjack, Spanish 21 and more. And as you become familiar with the hint charts and best play, you will likely need the charts less and less. Then, perhaps you are ready for the real thing. However, always keep in mind that even if you are great at Basic Strategy and have close to even up odds with the house, that luck can bring large swings either for or against you for short periods of play. That is perhaps why we call it gambling. However, why not practice and learn basic strategy to get those odds as good as you can? Or if you wish to not take any risks at all, simply enjoy the rpsoft 2000 blackjack game. Even though we ourselves have played in many casinos in the US and internationally, we still enjoy the software game also.

The card consists of a 5×5 matrix where each column is represented by the letters B-I-N-G-O. The middle square is typically a free square. The first person to form a specific pattern (usually a straight line) calls out “Bingo!”. The card gets checked for accuracy and the winner is announced. Then a new round begins.

2) Baccarat

In Baccarat each player has three options: Player, Tie, and Banker. When all players have placed their bets, the dealer deals out two 2-card hands, one is the banker hand while the other is the player hand. The hands are added up. If a hand totals over ten, the ten is dropped (I.E. 9+5=14=4). A hand equaled to 10 becomes a 0 or baccarat. The dealer deals out 7 cards to each player and himself in rotation. Everyone then looks at their cards and tries to make the best 5-card and 2-card poker hands. The 5-card hand must rank higher than the 2-card hand. The hands are then compared against the dealers. If both hands beat the dealer, the player wins. If both lose, the player loses. If both the dealer and the player win on a hand, it is a push.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5256628505957704846.post-34047834062104892772012-07-20T06:05:00.003-07:002012-07-20T06:08:34.299-07:00Tricks to win at roulette

<span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Key strategies for playing roulette and get prizes. It provides players with a slew of rewarding and innovative features that take slot gaming to the next level. This slot is skillfully themed on the appealing but endangered Giant Panda species in their lush bamboo forest habitat amid the beautiful Chinese mountains.

The four special features that set Giant Panda apart from the common run of slots are:

* Your gamble - a sophisticated advance on the traditional card-and-colour prediction gamble, this opportunity features the planet Earth and an indicator on which the player has the flexibility to choose gamble odds and then bet from his or her individual win box. Players can gamble up to 20x bet size per spin, and the slick presentation screen includes a banking facility that allows the punter to save up to 50 percent of the bet. Excitement builds as the indicator starts to move - if it lands in the green sector of the planet, the win is increased to the amount in the 'gamble to win box'. But if the indicator stops in the red sector, the player loses the amount wagered and exits the game with only banked, or 'saved', funds.

* Collect-A-Wild - each Giant Panda logo Wild symbol that lands on a reel will add a Wild token to the counter below it. When 4 wilds have been collected on the counters, the entire reel turns Wild on the next spin and remains Wild for 4 spins. Up to 5 reels can turn Wild, significantly increasing the player's winning opportunities.

* Lucky Nudge - look out for the bejeweled eye which is the Scatter symbol in this stunning game. 3, 4 or 5 of these across the reels delivers 10 Free Spins. Enhancing the player's chances of these reward-building free spins is an automatic 'nudge' feature if the eye is just visible - or 'peeking' - at the edge of a reel. The Free Spins feature alone can deliver up to 1,800,000 coins on the free spins and gives the player yet another advantage.

* Brilliant Wilds - this is a player benefit that kicks in during Free Spins, and will hold the Wilds that land on screen for the remaining cycle of the player's Free Spins advantage.

Untamed - Giant Panda really does add a new dimension to video slot gaming, and with a betting range between 0.01 and 0.05 a line it will suit most budgets, yet offers very substantial rewards.

Players can achieve pay-outs of up to 91,000.00 in both base game and free spins action, making for an attractive betting proposition as well as a thoroughly entertaining and feature-rich slot.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5256628505957704846.post-53453217236135367632012-07-16T05:22:00.002-07:002015-05-26T04:15:50.082-07:00How to Play and Win at Baccarat
Although not as popular as its other casino games counterpart, Baccarat is one of the easiest and quickest games to learn. Playing baccarat is easy and fun but many people find the rules confusing and complicated. If you're one of these people, we can help you learn the game quickly and easily. As a beginner, you can become an accomplished baccarat player by learning the set-up and rules, the trick to win and lots of practice.

There are two ways in which the game of Baccarat is played: the full-pit version and the mini-Baccarat version. The full-pit version involves 12 players. Mini-Baccarat, on the other hand, involves around six to seven players and less of an intense focus. The stakes are usually lower at the mini-Baccarat tables and should be less of a challenge for beginners. It is best to start small and then work your way up to the full-pit version.

The dealer is the decision-maker in Baccarat. Each card is assigned a numeric value and a sum is obtained by adding up the values of the card. When the sum is greater than 10, you drop the first number. At this point, the player has no say in how the game will proceed. The bet has already been placed and the player simply has to wait for the results. This may be discouraging for some players but the goal is to simply try and get closest to nine.

There are two hands in the game of Baccarat: the player hand and the banker hand. A player's job is to choose which hand will win. A player places a bet and then two cards are dealt for each hand. More cards may be dealt depending on the hand. Thee goal of Baccarat is to determine which hand is closest to nine. That is the winning Baccarat hand. In order to win at Baccarat, a player must be good at picking the winning hand.

As with any game, practice makes perfect. Beginners can try playing online at beginner levels and slowly move on to the higher levels once they feel they have mastered the lower ones. Winning will be even more rewarding when you know you put in the time and effort to become a master player.

Learning to play baccarat doesn't take a lifetime. Poker is, after all, a gambling game. In most games, you must 'ante' something (amount varies by game, our games are typically a nickel), just to get dealt cards. style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"; mso-fareast-Times New Roman"font-family:";font-size:12.0pt;" >Casinos are a psychological minefield. Their architectural design, as well as everything in it, has a methodical purpose devised to keep you, the player, inside spending your money. Some tactics they use are as prominent as the nose on your face, while others are guile and subtle. However, they all play on the players’ psyche and make them feel comfortable, wanted, and most of all optimistic. Following are ten maneuvers casinos use that keep them rising and falling in our money.
10. Additional oxygen

Breathe in gradually, now breathe out. Do you feel more refreshed? Higher levels of oxygen keep us awake and alert; one of the disputed theories for why we yawn while tired is that it is in order to draw in more oxygen. Sleepy gamblers might feel like they should head home and have a nap, and snoozing gamblers aren’t giving any money to the casino. So the casinos pump in additional oxygen from pressurized tanks so that the gamblers feel refreshed, awake and able to gamble for longer. There have even been reports that some casinos release aroma that promote feelings of euphoria or comfort, bringing the addictive nature of gambling to new heights.

9. Near misses

There’s nothing worse than almost winning. At least when you are noticeably a complete and utter loser you can take comfort in the fact that there was no other possible outcome. But when you win silver, you can see that gold is within your grasp and are likely to keep on going. Casinos are well aware of this flaw in human nature, and exploit it so that they can keep siphon your money into their pockets. From slot machine cherries that repeatedly fail to line up by just one symbol, to those one-armed bandits that are programmed to pay out a paltry sum of money every so often in order to entice you back, the casinos exploit the pull of near wins to blandish you to give it just one more try.

8. Food and drinks

The nice casino waitress who is constantly flutter in the background in case you would like some food or drink is not actually very nice after all. The goal of the casino is to keep you gambling until they have bled you dry and then to lure you back again. Hungry people might stop gambling and sober people might make wise decisions like, “Maybe I won’t just put it all on black.” In many cases your food and booze isn’t just brought to you; it is completely free, building an association in your mind between freebies and the casino. Of course the ridicule is that you’ve probably paid for your food ten times over in gambling losses, but, for many, the feeling in another reason not to leave.

7. Psychedelic carpets

When Oscar Wilde died, among his finals words were: “My wallpaper and I are fighting a duel to the death. One or the other of us has to go.” The interior design-minded playwright could almost have been referring to casino carpets. At first you might assume that the garish patterns and discord colors of the casino floor coverings are simply there to hide stains from spilled food and drink – or perhaps other bodily fluids.

6. No time indicators

The casino is a perfectly oiled machine within which time has little meaning. The lights never dim and the party never stops. After a session of gambling it could just as easily be the next hour or the next day. Any means by which gamblers might be reminded that they have responsibilities, duties and a life outside of the casino is absent. There are no clocks at which to glance and realize that it is time to go, and once away from the entrance no windows which could become light or dark with the passing of the sun, provoking an internal sense of time. Within the casino there is only an ever-present now that stretches and recoils with the wins – and the losses.

5. Mild, looping, hypnotic music

Background music with defined beginnings and ends would allow gamblers to unconsciously chart the flow of time, but no music at all would permit patrons to become aware of their environment – all the little noises of other gamblers and staff constantly bringing them back to reality from their gambler’s hallucination and reminding them that they are rapidly running out of cash. Profound reflection is anathema to the casinos, so they loop a constant mild music with no sharp crescendos sudden diminuendos or pulsing bass notes. The music aids the gambler in entering a trance-like state where there is nothing but the game – filling the casino’s pockets.

4. Maze-like internal layouts

If you do manage to keep money in your pocket on the way out of the building, you reach another mystification – which way is the way out? Casinos are deliberately designed to have as confusing a layout as possible such that you must traverse a labyrinth in order to attempt to leave.

3. Cashier desk trickery

So, you’ve decided it’s time to go and, resisting the urge to risk a few more bucks again, you look for the cashier’s desk to cash out your chips. Of course, this desk is located right in the depths of the casino, past every possible opportunity for more gambling. When you finally make it there you are likely to see large lines for those who wish to exchange chips for cash. Nobody likes waiting in line, so why not gamble instead? And if you do wait in line and decide to put just one dollar into the slots on the way out, you’re likely be surprised to see that the cashier has cashed out your chips with the largest persuasion possible, so that one last gamble will cost you a five or a ten instead.

2. Stimulating lights and noises

Everyone likes a party and in the casino it is an endless festival with dancing girls, bright lights and music. We have been socially conditioned into believing that bright lights and noises indicate something of importance that flashing colors are a hallmark of success and that shine and sparkle are a stand-in for beauty and wealth. The casino machines constantly light up and flash, never content to stay at a single luminosity, always progressing and giving you the impression that winning is constant and all around you. Amidst all this excitement surely it will be your turn to win soon, we’re being told.

1.<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman""> Subliminal messages in slot machines

<span style="line-height:115%;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri;mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-bidi-Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;mso-ansi-language:EN-US;mso-fareast-language: EN-US;mso-bidi-language:AR-SAfont-family:";font-size:11.0pt;" >Even those who find the casinos’ business model to be generally abhorrent and feel that they prey on the weak and vulnerable tend not to believe that they are actually evil. However, the fact that casinos have had to withdraw slot machines due to their use of subliminal messages should put paid to that belief. In some Canadian casinos, five-of-a-kind symbols were flashed on screen for a fraction of a second during play, aimed at convincing gamblers to stay at the machine, and increasing the feeling that they would hit the jackpot. It sounds like something from a conspiracy nut or tinfoil hat-wearing loon, but scarily it actually happened. Unknownnoreply@blogger.com
